Dear ESPN: Why do you pretend to care about soccer?

So, there was a Champions' League game yesterday, a pretty important one, between Barcelona and Chelsea. The teams won their Spanish and English leagues, respectively, last year and are two of the top clubs in the world, with players like John Terry, Andriy Schevchenko, Samuel Eto'o (though he is hurt), Ronaldinho, Petr Cech, Carles Puyol and other superstars.

The game ended in a draw 2-2, with Barcelona pulling ahead twice only to be equalized both times. Ten yellow cards were given (Six to Chelsea) and the Barcelona coach, Frank Rijkaard, "had to be pulled away" from the referee at the end of the game. So needless to say tempers were flaring.

ESPN showed highlights on Sportscenter. Neat, I thought. I'd like to see the goal by Deco, it was supposed to be a great one. And the cards, were they deserved or was it an issue of a crazy ref?

What highlights do we get? A Frank Lampard goal for Chelsea and the final equalizer by Didier Drogba, all while the Sportcenter hosts were talking in a fake British accent about the goals.

Come on, ESPN. Either show real highlights of what was (as far as I can tell) a great and exciting game, or just don't show them at all and go back to showing spelling bee highlights or some other non-sport.

Why is ESPN "The Worldwide Leader in Sports" when their reporting is a joke and they don't show the sport that most of the world cares about?
